This is a post card mailed from the St. Paul Winter Carnival Ice Palace in Minnesota in 1940. We picked this up at an estate sale, along with other post cards. We think the name on the card is Peter Scherer. He addressed it to a Ruth. Is Ruth a friend, girlfriend, family member, or ?

We decided to post this due to it's age and the history. This is our second great-grandfather- Hans Peter Larson, who was born in Ossian, Iowa. He was requesting information about land near Henry Dakota Territory on March 21, 1883. It's signed O. Gesley from Merchants Bank in Watertown, Dakota. In the notes above, O. Gesley states he can read Norwegian, but cannot write it. O. Gesley was president of the bank and C. E. Boyden was cashier. Hans Peter Larson was 21 years old at the time.
